The Martin 00-17s Whiskey Sunset is an all-solid 12-fret 00-sized guitar from Nazareth, Pennsylvania—and one of the most interesting variations in Martin's modern lineup. Lightly constructed, resonant. The Whiskey Sunset finish is a satin, dark-tinted finish that allows the wood maximum freedom of vibration and is reminiscent of guitars from the 1930s. No high gloss, no frills—just wood, sound, and craftsmanship.
The 00 body shape with the neck joining at the 12th fret and a traditional rosewood bridge delivers the typical intimate, warm tone that has made Martin 00 guitars so popular with blues and fingerstyle players for decades. This rather rare guitar from 2016 is in perfect condition, even with the tag still on.

Materials and Construction

• Sitka Spruce Top & Body – Solid Mahogany: Sitka spruce top, back, and sides of solid mahogany—this results in a warm, mid-focused tone with lots of character and little exaggerated brilliance. Typical of the 17-style.
• Satin Open-Pore Finish (Whiskey Sunset): no high-gloss lacquer—the wood can vibrate more freely. The toning gives the guitar a mature, earthy look reminiscent of pre-war instruments.
• 00 Body, 12-Fret: Compact, comfortable, intimate—the neck joint at the 12th fret ensures more resonant volume and the typical soft, warm fundamental tone of this body shape.
