The Northern Irish premium manufacturer Avalon is sitting on a rare treasure: 135-year-old Brazilian mahogany that rested near Seville for generations, allowing it to age in peace for over a century. The acquisition was made possible by Avalon Guitars' new owner, John McCartin – an excellent musician himself.
Combined with our desire for a 12-fret auditorium guitar with an elegant open headstock and new logo, a dream has been created here for 12-fret enthusiasts who love the sound of Irish guitars but also want the versatility of auditorium guitars. Appealing, warm, rich in midrange and with the quick attack of the cedar top, it is excellently suited for fingerpickers and other playing styles that seek a handy 12-fret with great volume, without wanting a large dreadnought or jumbo. Visually, the A15 presents itself as a simple, elegant Auditorium Performer with elaborate flame maple binding and an abalone rosette.
