This fine 2019 Atkin OO37S in excellent condition sounds warm, intimate, and surprisingly full for its compact size. Its focused tone combines a warm midrange with finely balanced bass and treble. It has the familiarity of a small guitar without sounding small in character.

When fingerpicking, this personal, intimate character comes through beautifully. Melody lines and accompanying chords find their place in its balanced sound. Yet, the OO is by no means limited to quiet, picked pieces: it also proves versatile as vocal accompaniment or when played with a plectrum. A guitar for quiet moments that simultaneously brings more richness than its handy dimensions would suggest.

The neck joins the body at the 12th fret. As a result, the fretting hand is positioned slightly closer to the player's body, which, together with the short scale length, makes for a particularly relaxed playing feel.

The slotted headstock emphasizes the traditional character of this versatile 12-fret guitar. Baked Sitka spruce, Indian rosewood, ebony, and the characteristic herringbone purfling define the appointments of Alister Atkin's 37 Series. The rounded C-neck profile complements the comfortable playing feel.
